At a rest stop in Blandford, Stephanie Girvin took a break from driving. She’s moving to Maine and had no complaints about the new system.
“For a driver, it’s a dream,” Girvin said. “It’s much, much easier. I’ve traveled the toll road all over the country, all through Maryland, all through the East Coast and I have to say the electronic tolling is much more efficient if you’re driving.”
But truck driver Jason Caldwell of Kentucky said modern technology is not as reliable as it could be.
“I would say there still should be somebody there because the transponders don’t always work.”Caldwell said. “Something can malfunction because it’s electronic.”
