Massachusetts Governor Chalire Baker has activated 500 national guardsmen to assist with Snow removal.
Governor Baker says 200 guardsmen will help cities and towns dig out hydrants. The rest of the troops will be removing snow. Baker also says the state is buying 2 massive snow melters.
“These melters can process about 120 tons of snow per hour, that’s about 25 truckloads of snow every hour,” Baker says.
Boston has also asked to borrow two snow melters from NY City.
