After Friday’s deadly airport shooting in Fort Lauderdale, officials at New England’s two busiest airports said they’re monitoring developments to the south.
The head of the Connecticut Airport Authority, Kevin Dillion, would not comment on whether officials have stepped-up security at Bradley International Airport in Windsor Locks. But in a statement, he said the safety of passengers and staff is of the utmost importance.
Dillion added that security at Bradley is always at a heightened level.
At Boston’s Logan International, officials said the state police, which regularly patrol the facility, have implemented enhanced safety measures out of an abundance of caution.
