Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker is scheduled to meet with leaders of the state legislature on Monday. These Monday meetings were happening nearly every week, until the legislative session ended July 31st. Since then, they’ve been more sporadic. In the meantime, state revenues for the first two months of the new fiscal year have come in, and they’re falling short.
We spoke with reporter Matt Murphy of the State House News Service. He says the shortfalls raise questions about whether Massachusetts’ budget can stay in balance.
