An Illinois man is facing federal charges that he tried to sexually exploit two Massachusetts boys through the video game system X-Box Live.
Federal prosecutors allege Zack Sawyer contacted two 13-year-old boys from Hampshire County in 2010 and asked them for nude photographs of themselves. When both teens refused, the government says Sawyer threatened to physically harm them.
The 31 year old was already facing local charges for the alleged crimes, following his arrest in 2014.
In addition to this week’s federal indictment in Massachusetts, the U-S Attorney’s office in Boston says Sawyer is suspected of contacting at least six other boys in Illinois and Virginia.
