Massachusetts U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren tops a new Bloomberg Politics poll looking at potential Democratic vice presidential nominees. The poll found 35 percent of Hillary Clinton supporters were in favor of a Clinton-Warren ticket.
Joe Joss is a Democrat from Windsor, Connecticut, who says he’s all for the pairing.
“I think it’s a great move and I think she should do it definitely and I think it would help Hillary in her quest to become president,” Joss says.
However, not everyone is on board with the idea of Warren as vice president. Muwwakkil Alqudah of Springfield says he would prefer Bernie Sanders as a running mate for Clinton.
“They’re both good people and they both have a lot to do for the country and they can do it and I know that them as a team will be the best,” he says.
For some, the Democratic nominee for vice president doesn’t matter at all. Tammy Walker of Chicopee, Massachusetts, says she doesn’t really care who Clinton chooses.
“In the first place, I don’t think I would vote for Hillary Clinton,” Walker says. “I would more be on the Donald Trump side.”
Warren herself continues to deflect the rumors and says she loves her job as senator.
The poll included the names of some of the other potential nominees. New Jersey U.S. Senator Cory Booker earned the support of 17 percent of those surveyed. Twelve percent picked U.S. Housing and Urban Development Secretary Julian Castro.
On the Republican side, former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich topped the poll with 29 percent, followed by former presidential candidate and Florida U.S. Senator Marco Rubio, who earned 24 percent.
