What made The Short List this week?
- Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker lays out his 2016 agenda in the State of the Commonwealth. Among them, reducing problems with opioid addiction, increasing clean energy and boosting the number of charter schools. The Governor also patted everyone on the back for being politer than the average politician.
- On Monday, there’s a public meeting in the Worcester county town of Southbridge. The state education board will hear from parents, teachers and students. In play is whether or not the state should take over the district, as it recently did in Holyoke.
- Weather, weather and more weather. Big storms, no matter the season, seem to capture media attention. Does that mean we’re better prepared, more resilient or scared?
