Massachusetts gambling regulators have plenty of questions for MGM Springfield, but will have to wait for answers.
MGM updated the state gaming commission Thursday on changes to its design. Those include a 14 percent drop in the resort’s size that MGM says will accompany at least a 5 percent drop in the expected number of cars arriving at the casino each day.
That led to a pointed question from commission chair Steve Crosby.
“Which is chicken and which is the egg?” Crosby asked. “Is the expected reduced use what drove the reduction in space, or is your voluntary decision to reduce space having a consequence of reducing use?”
MGM says the company will answer that question in two weeks, during a more complete presentation to the commission.
