Most of us recycle our waste every day, without much thought. But not Jared Starr, the Assistant Director of the Sustainability Science Program at UMass Amherst. Starr wrote a study that looked at recycling in all 351 communities in Massachusetts over a span of thirteen years. New England Public Radio’s Carrie Healy met Starr at the the Springfield Materials Recycling Facility to get an overview of the study.
