What’s Going On: Warren Irks Obama, Amtrak’s Troubles, Patriots Deflated

by: Susan Kaplan May 15, 2015

What’s Going On this week?

  • Massachusetts U.S Senator Elizabeth Warren got under President Obama’s skin, as she helped block (well, for a couple days at least) legislation allowing for fast-track trade negotiation authority.
  • Meanwhile, the Amtrak tragedy in Philadelphia raises questions across the region about who’s responsible and who’s going to pay for track improvements and maintenance.
  • And finally, the Patriots and Tom Brady are fighting back after the NFL slapped the team and its longtime QB with some harsh punishment for improperly deflated playoff footballs.

Click the audio player above to hear New England Public Radio’s Susan Kaplan explore these issues with Ron Chimelis of the Springfield Republican and Larry Parnass of the Daily Hampshire Gazette.
