As we approach November 4th, we’re hosting a series of mini-debates on the four ballot questions facing Massachusetts voters this year.
Today we look at Question 4 – which would require employers with more than 11 workers to offer paid sick leave. If it passes, Massachusetts would be one of the first states to let both fulltime and part time workers earn an hour of sick leave for every 30 hours worked, up to 40 hours of paid sick leave per year.
We’re joined by Steve Crawford of the group Raise Up Massachusetts, which supports the ballot question, and Jon Hurst of the Retailers Association of Massachusetts, which opposes the question.
Listen to the debate, moderated by New England Public Radio’s Karen Brown, by clicking on the audio player above.
