An Easthampton political activist reacts to the death of his uncle — a key figure in the execution of Julius and Ethel Rosenberg in 1953.

Both sons of Julius and Ethel Rosenberg say they had no relationship with their mother’s brother, David Greenglass, who famously fingered the Rosenbergs as Soviet spies. Greenglass’s death in July at 92 was just made public. Robert Meeropol of Easthampton is the youngest son of the Rosenbergs who ran a foundation in their name, The Rosenberg Fund for Children. A statement released by Meeropol and his brother Michael says they extend condolences to Greenglass’s family but continue to blame their uncle and his wife for lying about their parents’ actions and sending them to their deaths.
