Starting next week, Boston’s former police commissioner, Ed Davis, is headed to UMass Amherst.
The school hired Davis to assess how university and town police respond to large gatherings of students. This review follows dozens of arrests – and complaints of police overreaction – at the pre-St. Patrick’s Day”Blarney Blowout.”
Davis says that after running police departments in Lowell, and then in Boston, he’s no stranger to campus policing.
