Even another World Series title fails to get the Boston Red Sox extra respect in Connecticut. Results from the 12th annual Quinnipiac University poll on baseball came out Tuesday.
The Yankees were again Connecticut’s favorite team, topping the Sox by five percentage points. That’s the exact same margin from the last four years, says pollster Doug Schwartz.
“People are very loyal to their team and once they’re a fan of a particular team, there’s very little that can change that,” Schwartz says.
The Yankees were the overwhelming pick in Fairfield County near New York. The Red Sox are fan favorites for Hartford County residents. The New York Mets trail well behind in the statewide poll.
