Another Deadlocked Jury, Another Mistrial For Cara Rintala

For the second time in the past year, a jury has deadlocked on murder charges against Cara Lee Rintala. That’s the word from the Hampshire County Courthouse on Tuesday.

Rintala was charged in the 2010 killing of her wife, Annamarie Cochrane Rintala. The case is the first of its kind between a married same-sex couple in Massachusetts.

Daily Hampshire Gazette reporter Bob Dunn has been following the trial, and described the courtroom reaction when the judge declared another mistrial.
