Last year on the anniversary of 9-11, Amherst College history professor Frank Couvares was asked to speak about how this day ten years ago changed the U.S.  The 10th anniversary was a big moment for remembering. This year, on the 11th, ceremonies around the country are quieter.  New England Public Radio’s Jill Kaufman asked Couvares how Americans tend to choose when and what to memorialize. He told her, our instincts often come through asking and answering questions about the event.
