For hundreds of years, new immigrants in the U.S. have found a way to recreate the gardens and foods they left behind. Writer Patricia Klindienst talks about this in her new book, The Earth Knows My Name: Food, Culture and Sustainability in the Gardens of Ethnic Americans. She told WFCR’s Francesca Rheannon about three local gardens — Nuestras Raices garden in Holyoke, Massachsuetts, the Cambodian community garden in South Amherst, and the gardens of local architect Tullio Inglese.
