As the world waits to see if ailing Israeli prime minister Ariel Sharon can recover from the massive stroke he suffered last week, those who may be praying for him most may not even be Jews or Israelis. Nowhere in the world does Ariel Sharon elicit stronger reactions than in Lebanon, where he supported Christian political groups and their militias during that country’s long and bloody civil War.
