North Adams’ mayoral candidates raised about as much money, or more, during the last month than the candidates in the much larger city of Pittsfield.
Pittsfield has about 44,000 residents. North Adams has fewer than a third of that. But from early September to the middle of this month, North Adams Mayor Richard Alcombright and challenger John Barrett combined to raise more than $25,000.
That’s a couple thousand more than the candidates in Pittsfield ,Mayor Dan Bianchi and City Clerk Linda Tyer, raised during the same period. But if you look at money during the entire campaign, the Pittsfield candidates have each raised significantly more than the politicians to the north.
